Also this year, with the approach of Halloween, I want to tell you some true ghost stories that have fascinated and intrigued me in recent years. Thrilling atmosphere whose stories tell of unexplained facts that still have not found answers. Would you make a magical mistery trip together?

This is the story of Leila Carbone, the "Phantom of the Opera", which made the Theater "Carlo Felice" in Genoa his home. It was not easy to find the material on her but, at last I have enough documentation for telling you the story.

Over the centuries, artists, celebrities and common people crowded the rooms of this well-known theater. Since the early years of the 1800 were reported strange facts proven by numerous witnesses: unexplained music origin, loud laughter that burst in empty rooms, steps and whispered words... even a singer who loses his voice. Is there any truth in all these witnesses? Perhaps we'll never know but there is something that goes beyond the science and rationality. Something that leads us to believe in what we don't see. In fact, if in the morning these stories are told as legends and superstitions, at night they become terribly more "real" and ... distressing.

The Teatro Carlo Felice was built on the ruins of San Domenico Church and adjoining convent, which was demolished in 1826 to begin the work. The theater was completed in 1828 and the inauguration was given in staging the opera "Bianca e Fernando" by Vincenzo Bellini. The stages of the Carlo Felice hosted kings and queens of Europe and the rich European nobility who came to listen to these melodramas very much in vogue at the time.

I teatri antichi mi affascinano terribilmente.

The ancient theaters fascinate me terribly. Just close your eyes and imagine all the emotions that these places must be witnessed. Actors and singers, conductors and musicians and then who was behind the scenes... craftsmen and engineers... an invisible world behind each performance. Trepidation and fear, triumph and humiliation... all emotions that are somehow trapped in these walls as a battery capable of storing energy. Nothing dies but everything is transformed.
The first rumors of a ghost, circulating in 1850 when Sofia Corvelli, a young singer of extraordinary beauty and talent is preparing to go on stage. The girl is alone in her dressing room deep in thought. Suddenly the room temperature falls and a feminine figure materializes in midair. With an instinctive reaction Sofia attacking the intruder. The shadow shrinks and disappears. Sofia immediately has notice that something has changed ... she is no longer able to speak. The shadow stole her voice ... All is compromised… But just a moment before the director gives the announcement to the people, Sofia made a last attempt. Sofia Corvelli in fact, had many talents, some well-known as the voice and the extraordinary beauty, but She also had another secret he kept well: it was a medium. Sofia knew that ghosts were placated with an offer. She runs so suddenly in his dressing room, grab a white flower and places it gently on the exact spot where the shadow had appeared. At the same moment her voice back. Opera and the singer was an absolute triumph.
Popular tradition says that the Phantom of the Opera appeared at the singer, was Leila Carbone. Young and graceful daughter of a very famous lute maker in Genoa, lived in the second half of the ‘500. Unfortunately, She falls in love with a young nobleman of that time whose mother was not happy of that union. The bad and rich woman caused the ruin of Leila. The Young girl was seriously accused of witchcraft. Singled out as guilty of the worst infamies, was tried and imprisoned in the dungeons of San Domenico Church where She have found the agony of death after the Agony of her Life. The place is precisely the Theater Carlo Felice.
The Guardian of the theatre tells us:
"I was walking around the perimeter out of the theater to see if everything was OK. To enter again, I put the key in the door... but nothing, it was locked. I thought it was really strange... in the meantime begin to arrive the person in charge of cleaning because it was the start of their service. She inserted her key to open the door but still nothing... the door was always locked. She turned to me and said: "uhmmm… Leila is doing her usual joke. Often She does not let us go to work." I thought she was making fun of me and with a smile, facing the door, I said aloud, "Well Leila, Now you have fun enough. We have to go to work. Could you open the door, please? ". At that moment the click of the door opening... it opened just after I said those words. None of us had touched it... "

Many Medium had their direct experiences with Leila. One of them was, Maurizio Bonfiglio. In the Theater, He did take a pen and paper and wrote "I am not a STRIA." The word "Stria" in the ancient Italian means WITCH!!
He wrote also the court's judgment during the process always in ancient italian:

“Lying on the ground the guilty is marked with burning iron on face. Cut her  nose, an ear or gouged out an eye according to the judgment and will of the authority.”

Now I ask myself the agony suffered by this poor girl... Probably Leila has not yet found peace...

Now I would like to imagine Leila like in this last picture... full of light and love... I really hope that sooner or later it will be possible for her. maybe, To tell you that She was innocent could help her.

BENVENUTO AUTUNNO - WELCOME AUTUMN

Domani arriva l'autunno!!

One of my favorite season is the Autumn (maybe because I don't suffer allergy)! Welcome Autumn! And warm wishes to you!!

Big Welcome to Autumn
by Arthur Wilson Jr.

A great time of year.

I have missed you.

It has been to long.

A year I guess.

Now the air will be cool and crisp.

The leaves will fall off the trees.

The bitter heat is gone away.

It is time to welcome autumn.

The indirect shining of the sun.

A cool wind to strengthen my bones.

Autumn fills me with a cool embrace.

A special comfort.

You make me feel so relaxed.

There will be no haze to sap my energy.

There will only be a clear view.

An ovrwhelming force of beauty to invigorate the air.

Welcome Autumn.

Il Sonno della natura
Di Vincenzo Riccio

Nell'estate
ha consumato tutto il suo vigore,

ed ora, stanca,

ha voglia di riposo.

Toglie gli orpelli al mondo

e al verde il suo colore;

un arrivederci al sole;

The desire to experiment new projects and new ways, has made me able to turn on intermittently the light of the ideas in my mind. Just simple ideas, nothing important or considerable at the moment but enough to make me feel free to create something of new. In fact, as you can see, I did a little break this last two months from my little loved books and for this reason, I have now the serenity to start again

These 1/12 scale panels are not anything particularly difficult or great, but just something of funny and new. Sometimes just a single detail can make the difference. Do not forget what means to create miniatures... It should give joy and serenity... An "Autogenic training" in conclusion ;o)  Basically, trying new ways also means not fossilize on older. Sometimes we need to change a bit. Maybe a time just long enough to get new inspirations and motivations, but at least in the meantime, we have learned something new while having fun. I am very philosophical today, right? Please, be patient with my English translations.... ;o)
Of course, one of my first experiments is dedicated to Mucha, my favorite artist!!
In this case the resin is just all around the silhouette of the woman figure. I'm trying with my photos to show you the effects of relief and transparency, but it is very difficult. However, the result is very nice. The resin is an infinite world to explore. You love it or hate it .... Which one? For me it is a mix of both. You need to have a steady hand and a great patience. Especially you must "risk". What? To ruin a big or small work almost finished, which it cost your time, effort and patience. My little works are an examples of a few hours dedicated to play with resin finishing.
The difficulty is to try to remove or at least avoiding as much as possible, the formation of nasty bubbles.... They make you crazy. It seems easy but it isn't. you must be ready to sacrifice some pieces. they will be unusable. For this reason I don't like to work always with resin.
The rose resin finished in this small panel, for example, can play with light with  3D effects. Very nice to see...  In Italian we have a special technique of "Suspended and Transparent" which is really beautiful. Nothing to do with the resin of course, but it gives the impression that the flower comes to life ...

You can find these three panels on my ETSY. I have only these ones in resin finishing at the moment.

My apologizes if I have not participated often in the last your Giveaways or if I cannot visit your blog these last weeks, unfortunately vacation, work, and a bad flu are the main reasons.

Un caro saluto a tutti voi ;o))) Hugs!!!

Un Benvenuto al mio nuovo amico - Welcome to my new friend

Finally my new friend has arrived. I was really amazed about the talent of Patricia Cabrera (Wooly Tales miniatures). This doggie is an example of her gorgeous precision of the details.
Through these photos I'm trying to show you the reality of this nice doggie.  Eyes and nose seem wet like a real dog.

Compliments Tita for your great and unique work. I will send you my gifts as soon as possible.

MERAVIGLIOSA TOSCANA - WONDERFUL TUSCANY

Val d'Orcia (Orcia valley) in Tuscany is a marvelous landscape of never-ending hills, grain fields, and streams, with rich clay and tufa soils; the Valdorcia is today the real icon of Tuscany, a natural setting of extraordinary beauty. It has become known all over the world as the classic Tuscan landscape. Important films like the Oscar winners The English Patient, La Vita è Bella and The Gladiator were shot here, as well as Romeo and Juliet directed by Franco Zeffirelli, and most recently Under the Tuscan Sun, cementing the Val d’Orcia’s beauty in cinematic history.

The people of the Val D'Orcia area have resisted the pressures of progress and retained the traditions of the region safeguarded the relationship between man and the environment, particularly that of hospitality, which was offered to visitors particularly during the time the great pilgrimages.
Well worth visiting: the villages of Pienza, Castelmuzio, Castiglione D’Orcia, Montefollonico, Monte Oliveto, Monticchiello, Petrolio, Radicofoni and Bagno Vignoni.

There are many routes to be followed on foot or on bike. The Val d'Orcia is part of the Unesco's Heritage List and is universally recognized as one of the most beautiful landscapes on Earth.
Val d'Orcia - Toscana

Monticchiello is a pretty medieval village, which origins lose themselves in the time. It is in the heart of the Val d'Orcia, whose beauty derives from its geographical position and the harmonious integration of its medieval architecture, and wide, well-proportioned spaces, which give the impression of moving around a great house. At a distance, Monticchiello appears simply as a tough, squat tower on the crest of a hill.

Buona settimana a tutti!!
